 Creeper Drag Rules

 
  1. Creeper must be part of the frame.
  2. Frame must be either steel or aluminum.
  3. Creeper must have seat belt and roll over protection. 
  4. Roll bar must be 3' taller than driver's helmet.
  5. Must have steering that operates correctly and safely. 
  6. Must have brakes that function and stop creeper within 100 feet. 
  7. No more than 24 - volt setup or creeper will be disqualified.
  8. Batteries can be 6, 8, or 12 volts. 
  9. Batteries must be secured to chassis.
  10. AGM or GEL type batteries may used.
  11. Lead acid batteries must be in a battery case.
  12. Creeper to be operated by a momentary push button switch only. 
  13. Each Creeper shall have a battery disconnect switch with proper amperage rating that is within hands reach and in front of each driver. The battery disconnect switch must be capable of disarming the entire power source once activated by the driver.
  14. Each Creeper shall be subject to a prerace inspection and perform one qualifying run. During the qualifying run, each driver must demonstrate that the brakes are able to stop the Creeper within 100 feet or less. If the Creeper is unable to stop within 100 feet, it will be disqualified.
  15. Each driver must demonstrate during the qualifying run that that the momentary push button switch operates correctly and that the battery disconnect switch correctly shuts down the entire power source when activated.
  16. Every driver must have hands on the steering wheel when operating the momentary power switch or activating the brakes.
  17. Inspector�s reserve the right to reject any Creeper from running the race because of unsafe controls or inability to meet rule requirements.
  18. Monday night inspectors will perform pre-race inspections. Any Creepers unable to meet the rule requirements will have until Wednesday at 5pm to correct the defects. Each Creeper unable to meet rule requirements will be inspected for a second time. MUST pass prerace inspection to race your Creeper.
  19. Creepers will be broken up into 2 classes:
    1. Class A - One starter, 12 volts (can race in the unlimited class)
    2. Class B - Unlimited (up to 24 volts)
  20. Helmets will be required. THINK SAFETY!

Carts will be on display in the conference center throughout the week.
ONLY registered students of the conference may enter a Creeper in the drags.
