 About FireXChange

Since the invention of the first temperature sensitive sprinkler by Frederick Grinnell in 1881, the fire protection industry has evolved dramatically. Fire protection options available to present day Owners, Insurers, Engineers, and Contractors are diverse and vary in commercial, technical, and life-cycle considerations.

Understanding various fire protection approaches and assisting with the education of these new technologies was a key consideration when Tyco Fire Suppression & Building Products elected to replace their highly popular Valve Demonstration Unit (VDU) with their latest educational tool, the FireXChange.

The FireXChange is an interactive fire protection technology demonstration unit. The various system types offered by Tyco Fire Suppression & Building Products are displayed in standby configuration and are also physically discharged. Videos of actual fire tests are also displayed.

System types on display include many of the technologies that professionals consider each day across the fire protection industry. The FireXChange includes R-102™ kitchen fire suppression,

key water segment valves, Quell™, discharging sprinklers, Inergen® and Sapphire® clean agent systems, AutoPulse® fire releasing panels, and a foam discharge demonstration. Tyco Grinnell mechanical products and even AquaSonic™, Tyco’s latest twin-fluid water mist technology, are on display.
