Leadership in Action

The Washington Fire Chiefs is an incorporated nonprofit organization. Its mission is to be a source of information and education to its members and to embrace a role in influencing issues that affect the fire service.

The Washington Fire Chiefs offers three types of membership.

• Department Membership
• Individual Membership
• Associate Membership

The membership year runs from January 1st - December 31st.

Department Membership

This membership is open to fire service organizations. Dues are based on assessed valuation and range from $95 a year to $825. Fire organizations without assessed values pay $175 per year.

Department membership qualifies the fire organization to 3-5 active voting members. The job title of each of these members must be Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief or Fire Marshal. A number of member benefits are associated with this level of membership, including free job postings and classified ads, access to Members Only resources, regular email communications regarding critical and emerging issues, discounts on training and registrations fees, and the Member Request service.

Individual Membership

This membership is open to those who are interested in joining a professional Section. There are currently eight Sections serving several disciplines within the fire service.  Individual dues currently range from $25-$45 per year.

• Apparatus and Equipment Mechanics   
• Emergency Medical Services
• Administrative Support
• *Washington State Fire Marshals Association 
• HazMat and Special Operations
• Information Technology
• Public Fire Educators 
• Fire Training and Safety Officers
• Fire Officers

Individual membership qualifies the member to receive regular communications and news items relevant to their field of expertise. Regular training and workshops are offered throughout the year to provide career development and networking opportunities. Members are granted access to Members Only resources, receive the Association's monthly newsletter, and are provided discounts on training and other services.

Associate Membership

This membership is open to external organizations and vendors who wish to participate in the Association and receive regular communications regarding events, news, and issues of importance to the fire service community in Washington. Associate members are given access to the online searchable Members Directory and receive discounts on exhibitor opportunities. Dues for this level of membership are $100 annually.
