| | | Kenneth Walkington | 360-589-1133 | krwalkington@gmail.com | Have Reactivated the old Fire Service Associates Consulting business. Fire Service Associates was founded in 1985 by Fire Chief Neil Good, then the Fire Chief for Lacey Fire Protection Dist #3 in Lacey Washington. Chief Good recruited Fire Chief Tom Kanno of Lakewood Washington and together they offered consulting services throughout western Washington. They specialized in strategic analysis and management development. Both Chiefs instructed at the National Fire Academy and were recognized as experts in organizational development. Chief Ken Walkington was recruited by Chief Good in 1985 from Vancouver Fire as his Assistant Chief of Operations at Lacey. Chief Walkington worked as an associate of Fire Service Associates teaching, lecturing and providing organizational analysis for many departments in western Washington throughout the 1990’s. Upon the death of Chief Good the company remained dormant for four years until Chief Walkington reincorporated the firm in March of 2011. With seven new associates the firm provides consulting services that include, training, and business development, strategic planning and fire investigations for Fire Departments, Fire districts and private industry. Chief Walkington is a thirty-seven year veteran of the fire service. His education in organizational development and leadership began while serving as a non-commissioned officer with the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended NCO School and became a platoon sergeant with the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion. After leaving the military, he furthered that education with a degree in Management Science and has brought that knowledge and experience to the Fire Service. Chief Walkington is a Fire Service Instructor, Homeland Security Incident Command Instructor for Region #3 and is a roster Instructor for the Emergency Management Institute. He also specializes in strategic planning and meeting facilitation. We can tailor classes, seminars and presentations to meet your individual organizational needs, as well as address organizational issues that provide challenges in today’s workplace. Fire Service Associates has a proud tradition and we look forward working with you in the future.
